Chandeliers are beautiful. They can add a bit of sparkle and taste to any room. Along with adding that additional ornamental delight to your living room it has now become a part of various bedrooms and powder rooms. There are all kinds of chandeliers to choose from: crystal, wrought iron, alabaster, etc. Some chandeliers are exquisite in their own right, but I always add at least one special thing to make a chandelier my very own.
For example, crystal chandeliers are pure gorgeousness. The crystals on these chandeliers catch light from every direction making it virtual bling for a ceiling. You can either add solid or patterned lampshades for barring that extra glare from the lamp or add candle cups for a Victorian look. On the flip side, you can also dress up a plain Williamsburg style chandelier and give it your own personal form.
You can always find a simple chandelier for under a hundred bucks at any thrift store, local home improvement store or flea markets . Make this less than hundred dollar chandelier look like a million bucks by adding accessories to it. You can buy crystals by the strand from a chandelier parts or lighting store, or you can purchase garlands of beads that abound in the holiday section of a crafts store.
It is extremely important to learn more about the parts of a chandelier before actually building one, so here's a small diagram explaining that for now:
